One of Accacia’s true strengths is the already advanced development of its reflectance strip reader for traditional colloidal gold-based immunochromatographic test strips. A provisional patent application has been filed on this technology and design.

Accacia has recently completed a fully functional prototype of a Handheld Fluorescence Polarization (FP) instrument with patentable technology. Presently data is being collected on the same using commercially available kits. Accacia intends to develop FP bioassays for biodefense, clinical and agricultural testing markets.

A Fluorescence-based strip reader based on the same patentable technology is being developed. All Accacia readers will have the wireless capabilities to transfer data from remote sites.

Accacia has delivered prototype readers (shown at left) to a major diagnostic company with whom it is partnering and is presently in discussion with several major diagnostic companies in the US and internationally for the commercialization of these handheld readers.
